In case anyone hasn't noticed, the old forums (in read-only format) are available --> http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/index.php

The only thing I noticed that isn't working is the search, so unless you remember where a specific post or thread is, it's going to be a bit difficult to find.

    I know there is no way to read PMs and the Member's forum or other special forums.

    On the old forum the search required people to sign in first but there is no way to sign in to see the search.

    They should, if you change the "forum.daz3d" in them to "forumarchive.daz3d"; mine do.

    Yes, you have to update your bookmarks as Chaomancer mentioned.

    Yes, until we can log in we can't see images either.

    What's happening with me is --
    Where the image would appear, there is instead the HTML code which would display the image.

    Are others getting the same?

    It looks like typing in a page number to go to in the forum archive alos doesn't work. The only way to get to a page appears to be clicking a number or the next and previous buttons.

    I'm getting the code for the images as well - kinda sucks for the tutorials that had pics in them, let alone all the other great artwork/images/renders/whatever you wanna call ems that was on the forums.

    I found out how. just go to the old forums and copy the viewtopic.php?t=189550 from your bookmark after the http://forumarchive.daz3d.com /. The address has changed from http://forum.daz3d.com to http://forumarchive.daz3d.com

    I have always used Google with advanced search to search the Daz forums. Far superior to the standard forum search and always I obtain the feedback I require.
    Google still directs me to the old forum addresses, the only hassle is to have to "type" ( we are too used to point n click) the word, archive, directly behind the word, forum, with no space in between, then click the go arrow and " Bobs your Uncle".
    For example, Google this...

    you will get 36,100 pages...that is a lot of work Chohole :-)

    The info about the basic URL should definitely be included in the FAQ for the new DAZ 3D Forums:. At present the...

    • What will happen to the old DAZ 3D Forum when the new one is put in place?
    - The Old DAZ 3D Forum will be accessible for read only now that the new forum is in place. You will still be able to see all the forum posts from the old forum.

    ...just doesn't answer the question.

    Also in order to see images you have to go through this to them to show as well...

    So you have say this at the bottom of the archived thread:

    So you want to just copy the postimages/origimage_1_864846.jpg and then add http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/ so it looks like this:

    http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/postimages/origimage_1_864846.jpg

    Pain in the butt but from what's been hinted is that we will have logon rights again and so images will once again show inline... I HOPE!

    Hello,

    What has happened to all the old forum posts?

    There were so many useful helps, hints and guides that are no longer accessible now that the new forum has gone live. All the previous links are broken and I can no longer access tutorials, descriptions and images I was using for my project.

    Is this issue being addressed, and will we be able to access again the extensive backlog of forum posts that prove so invaluable? Would be a great loss to not have these available any more.

    Also, there used to be a specific forum for Mimic work, that doesn't appear to be included in the new forum. Is there to be a new one specific for this area?

    The inline pictures are gone for the moment - but after the new store and forum work they will work on those.

    Once the current issues with the forum and store are worked out they are going to be working on the old forum to allow you to log in and be able to do more things. In the meantime to view the images just replace the "forum.daz3d.com" with forumarchive.daz3d.com

    Actually, to view the images on the old forum you look for the image code,

    you copy just this bit postimages/origimage_1_3406197.jpg


    and then you add it to http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/

    Another question on the archives. When will we be able to search it? There are so many things there I am trying to research for a project and I keep getting an error screen.

    The best you can do at this time is do a google search on the forum. They will be working on the archived forum once they get the store and current forum running smoothly.

    But if you do the google search bit remember to put the arcive bit in the serch string, otherwise you will get results from here, or links that won't work

    The 'Log In' link from the old forum still just gives a 404 error. Being logged in via the DAZ site still doesn't make a jot of difference.

    Does anybody still care... ???

    Nope. It's "Ballroom Queen," Andolaurina's contribution to the 2010 Platinum Club Challenge, and it was available at http://forum.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?p=2563716#2563716 . The zip file is on Andolaurina's website, but the password isn't...
